Some lovely images, shane, sorry I have been remiss in checking them out. Those blue daisies are gorgeous. Do you think you could grab a few roots and pop over and plant them in the church? Every little bit helps.

Me and plants don't mix Di, and I'm not sure when I'm going to be heading your way, otherwise i would see what I can do. I do know where they are so if you come this way I'm sure we can get in touch with the owner and see what can be done smile.gif Thanks for looking

Hello Shane, great photos... especially like the blue daisies and bumble bees /or honey bees?

Sorry to be a pest, but could you tell us what we are looking at in your lovely photos?

A view of a mountain from a cemetery? A bridge over a river somewhere? etc... just a bit of a sticky beak and need to know. smile.gif

Okie dokie Natalie. I suppose from now on I should put a bit of a description underneath each photo, and I will do that smile.gif

First image:
A patch of blue daisies, with bumble bees. Taken when I was wandering around town. I couldn't believe the amount of bees that were hanging around.
Second Image:
Was taken at Queenstown cemetery. I really liked the outlook from this spot, Mt Owen in the background.
Third image:
The King River. this was taken on our run out the Mt Jukes Rd. Some very nice scenery out that way smile.gif
Fourth Image:
Part of Mt Huxley. Also taken on the Mt Jukes Rd, one of the highest parts I think.

I'm glad you liked the shots and no problem being a sticky beak smile.gif

WEEK 10

As Anna said the weather has been pretty wet and I have been stuck doing an assignment for Uni, but I had to go to Rosebery during the week so snapped some shots. I also managed to get out for a bit of a break and took some shots of Mt Owen, which isn't hard cause I just have to open my back door biggrin.gif So an assortment of shots this week, some from Rosebery, Queenstown and the Henty Glacial reserve. Enjoy smile.gif

awesome shots in there Shane, just from curiosity how did you capture Hogarth falls with the water looking all flowing and milky like that, what were the settings on your camera????, you reside in a magnificent part of the world with all this on your doorstep!

Thanks heaps Dave smile.gif

Were you talking about Nelson Falls or Hogarth Falls?

The settings for the Hogarth Falls shot were:

1/250th sec @ F5.6, 100 ISO at 55mm focal length. It was a stitching together of 4 shots vertically and all shots were taken at the same settings. hand held.

The settings for the Nelson Falls shot were:

1.5 sec @ F22, ISO 100 @ 18mm focal length. with a tripod.
I love where I live...it would take a very special place indeed to make me move away from here smile.gif

Hope that helps smile.gif

all duly noted Shane, I'll try some of those settings next time I get to a waterfall, not real sure which fall it was now but they are all fantastic spots in there

It's like that hey Di? I was thinking similar things when I lined that one up smile.gif

Just try different settings when you do have a go Dave, what's good for one spot may be not so good for others, but i suppose they can be starting points to see what works for you smile.gif

Great stuff Shane. I really wish I had access to mountains like that! Agree about that shot of the track... looks great. Would make a great spooky shot at night!

Thanks Anthony. the track I think would look cool on a night with a full moon, maybe a bit of mist with the light from the moon penetrating...will have to keep an eye on full moon times and weather I think smile.gif

WEEK 11

I got out a couple of times this week. There is a track I can see from my kitchen window that was intriguing me so I decided to climb it. We also got out to Cradle Mountain and did the Dove lake Circuit. It's an awesome walk and I would like to get back there and do it again. So this week the shots are from Queenstown and Cradle. Enjoy :)

Hello Shane, enjoyed all your photos this week. The sky in the reservoir shot looks gorgeous, and I love the colours in the Fagus shot. :)

Thank you Natalie. It was quite a warm day when I went up to the reservoir, and the sky was awesome from up there. I love fagus and the way it changes colour, an amazing plant indeed.
