WEEK 12.

Yucky west coast weather for most of the week, but the last couple of days have been beautiful. I managed to get out for a couple of wanders around town. I also had a chance to play with the Beast and the extension tubes, they are fun and now just to learn what fstops and exposures to use for each shot. Thanks heaps Mystic for letting me play :D. I love learning new stuff. Have a great week and enjoy :)

Great shots Shane. Love the result from the sunset tonight, and your capture of the little buggers eating my fuchsia's

I like them all as well, though out of the 4 pics if I had to make a choice it narrows down to 2. Being Mt Owen and the garage. Final choice is the garage, but I did feel the sides were cut off, I would also like to have seen it square cropped with a bit more vegetation on the sides, the same amount above the apex of the shed and allow the forground to extend the amount required to get the square frame. Hope I'm not being over demanding or critical. When I look at a picture I do tend to look at it from the angle of would I hang it on a wall.
Some, walk in the rain, others, just get wet.

great shots Shane, I too like the mount and the garage, but I like the way you included the grass leading into the garage, almost looks "inviting" like it's "asking" you to come in

Thanks for your comments Cascade. I see what you're saying. I can go and get more shots of this shed, it's just up the road. When I do I will remember what you have suggested and give it a go and post it in the forum for you to have a look at. The only way we learn and become better photographers is through such critiques, and I am one for making my images as good as they can be, so any hints and tips are quite welcome. They beat "nice shot" any day. Thank you.

Thank you Dave. That's what I thought as well. And the no parking sign says the opposite :D

Everyone has their own way of looking at art/photos and it is good to get personal views, it lets me know where I am going or which way I should go with my images. Thank you all for your constructive comments.

WEEK 13

Another wet week here on the west coast. Not much of an opportunity to get out and about. Looks like the wet season has started. Enjoy and have a great week :)

Better you than me having to deal with those chilly mornings, Shane! :) Great view with that fog rolling around the hills. And the bumble bee looks gorgeous against the vivid blue. Looking at the reflections in the pond is almost doing my sense of balance in. Lol.

Another great selection - thanks!

Thanks Dave :) Glad you like the shots. I do have a fireplace but I don't use it. The price of wood and my students payment don't really meet, and I'm not really someone who knows a lot about fires, I wouldn't want to burn my house down.

I don't mind the chilly mornings Natalie. Don't look too much at the pond :) swimming down here at the moment I don't think would be too advisable :D

Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated

WEEK 9

Well the rainy season has started. I haven't wandered too far this week, and haven't taken a lot of photos. Got out the Mt Jukes Rd on Thursday, its a beautiful run, with heaps of scenery to see, I also went for a bit of a wander around town. Enjoy the scenery <img src="http://www.realtasmania.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Slowly catching up Shane. Cruising through your images, my eye was caught by the old cemetery shots. Love old cemeteries. Must go for an explore in our local cemetery outside Branxholm

WEEK 14

Most of the week again was wet. Sometimes it gets a bit monotonous, but living over here on the west coast you get used to it. Managed to get out a couple of times this week, once after finishing an essay and the other for Targa yesterday. I went up to the lookout on the Strahan side of Queenstown and waited for the cars to come down the hill. Had a ball even thought there was a bit of reain, lots of wind and a bit of sunshine as well. Interesting time. Enjoy. I'll post a few shots of my Targa experience once I have finished my next essay.

Thanks for your photos, Shane! Enjoyed the Lapwings silhouetted against the sky. And I'm not a car/rally type person at all - wouldn't know the make of a car even if it ran me over... but love your Targa Car shot! :)

Thanks Natalie. The lapwing shot was a lucky one...happened to have the right focus at the right time :-). The Targa car is a Beamer, BMW, but I would have to look up the model number. I just love the look of them and the sound and the smell.....calm down Shane :D Taking photos of them can be difficult especially if they are at high speed, but I would love to do it again...it's fun.
